Lip Tint Tattoo, also known as Lip Blush, is a cosmetic tattoo treatment designed to enhance the natural shape and tone of your lips. Using soft, neutral and natural toned pigments, our artists create either subtle shading or more defined colour depending on your desired look. The result is a fuller, more symmetrical appearance - perfect for those who want their lips to look naturally tinted with only gloss or balm needed on top. Lip Tint Tattoo creates the illusion of fuller lips and can tattoo 1-2 mm beyond your natural lip border.
To reduce the risk of cold sores during healing, we recommend taking lysine or a preventative supplement 3–7 days prior to your appointment.
On the day, a numbing agent is applied before your artist begins designing and mapping your lip shape. A slightly deeper pigment is typically used around the border, blended into a lighter wash through the centre to create a soft, natural pout. Please note: this treatment cannot lighten your natural lip tone.
As pigment appears darker during the healing process, we recommend scheduling your appointment with this in mind, especially around important events.
Your lips will appear most vibrant within the first 24–48 hours. As the outer layer naturally peels, the colour will soften into a sheer, even tint. You will be provided with detailed aftercare post treatment.
A perfecting retouch session at 6–8 weeks is recommended to refine colour and definition. Expect your lips to fade 25–50% during the healing phase, with peeling lasting 3–7 days depending on skin type.
Lip Tint Tattoo typically lasts 2–4 years before a refresh is required, though longevity depends on your skin type, skincare actives, and sun exposure. For best results, avoid excessive dermal filler in the lips, as this can affect the healed outcome. Please allow at least 7 days before applying makeup to the treated area.
